Driving Force is a three-piece rock band from Zurich, Switzerland. The band was founded back in 2008 by Thomas Mathis in order to initiate a musical surrounding that suits best his personal artistic emotion and expression. Rock and Metal always helped him through tough times and thus were the Driving Force that kept him going.

Our songs bring to you 80s rooted power riffing, shouldered by a stamping low end to fire out rocking and melodic hooklines. We strive to walk the line between rock and metal…snarling and biting, catchy when needed. All members share the same passion for the amazing music of artists like Accept, Megadeth, Dokken, Tygers Of Pan Tang, Metallica or Bonfire. The lyrics are inspired by daily life and down to earth stories, that everyone is familiar with. Driving Force gets musically and lyrically straight to the point to catch the listeners attention.

We produced and released three longplayer and one EP and currently finish the production of our new release. Despite the current pandemic and the unknown situation for live events, we are very active in scheduling new gigs for 2022.
